The George Jones Farm and Nature Preserve is a 70 acre farmstead owned by Oberlin College and operated by the New Agrarian Center (NAC) as a cooperative farm incubator and educational center. The farm combines production areas for vegetables, fruits, composting, and free-range livestock with efforts to restore natural habitat. We approach the farm from an ecosystem perspective, working to restore topsoil, wetlands, forests, and meadows to create a truly sustainable food web that feeds people as well as wild plants and animals. See website for more information.

The Shepherd's Fold: Phone: 330-496-3143.
The Shepherd's Fold is a polyculture farm, where many mutually beneficial species happily co-exist. Our bees collect pollen from our corn and nectar from the hayfields. They are not harmed, because we do not use pesticides. The corn and hay are fed to our sheep, goats and cattle, who turn it into healthy meat, milk and nutrient-rich manure. In the summer they fertilize our pastures for us. In the winter, when they spend most of their time inside, lounging in the barn, we bed them with wood chips (fallen limbs from our woods) which will go back onto the garden and the fields in the spring. Located at: 13306 County Road 100, Big Prairie, Ohio 44611. Call Joseph and Marion Yoder or visit website for more information.
